Every detail here is intentional. Designed with your comfort and ease in mind, we want you to feel taken care of and make yourself at home.
Comfort: These aren’t your average tents! Our tent camping experience offers real beds, quality linens, relaxing decor, rugs, extra blankets, and seating inside and out. We’ve thought through everything and stocked each tent with all the necessities for a good night’s sleep.
Cleanliness: Go on, label us neat freaks! Our porta toilets are cleaned daily, stocked with soap, water, and paper towels. Our rooms are cleaned thoroughly after each visitor, and we’ve been told that our accommodations are some of the cleanest our guests have ever encountered!
Hot water: No roughing it required! A private, on-site shower offers propane-heated hot water on demand.
Permission to Go at Your Own Pace: Every tent and camper comes with a personal Solo Stove and a bundle of firewood. So you can sit by the fire, enjoy the river, and enjoy your stay at whatever speed you like.
Because the Little Things are Everything: We’ve thought of it all, so you don’t have to! We stock bug spray, bear spray, sunscreen, hand sanitizer, earplugs, eye masks, and fire starters. In addition to our showers and porta toilets, you can upgrade your stay to use our propane buddy heaters or relax in our wood-fired, Alaskan-built sauna or wood-fired soaking tub. We offer WiFi on the property, an outdoor cooking area, lounge seating, and free parking! We also have a camp store for the things that come up during your stay.
About Us
The Lulu’s Story
Lulu’s Founder, Laura Wilson, didn't set out to run a business, never mind two! After a career in hospitality, restaurants, hotels, event planning, and working as an Alaskan guide, Laura found herself always paying attention to the places that got it right. The little touches, the thoughtfulness and intention, and the feeling of being taken care of. She knew she wanted to offer others the same experience.
She sold her home in New Hampshire and made the decision to purchase the land, now known as Lulu’s basecamp, in Palmer, Alaska. She loved the overwhelming, inexplicable feeling of peace this property brought her and began bringing her vision to life.
She set up the tents, thought through every detail, and opened the doors to those craving stillness and a long overdue exhale.
Laura is also the founder of Say Yes Alaska, a wedding officiating and event planning company. Lulu’s isn’t just a place to stay, it’s a place to get married, celebrate, connect, make memories, and mark the moments that matter most!
